Science Explorers is dedicated to earning and maintaining the trust of every family, educator, school partner, and subscriber who chooses to work with us. This Privacy Policy explains how Science Explorers, LLC, also operating as Science Explorers School, Science Explorers Curriculum, and Science Explorers Online Programming (collectively "Science Explorers," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, stores, protects, and discloses information in connection with access to our curriculum platform hosted on Teachable and all related websites, programs, and services (the "Platform").

This Privacy Policy applies to all users of the Platform, including school partners, program operators, licensed instructors, curriculum subscribers, and any other individuals who access the Platform (each, a "User" or "Subscriber"). By accessing or using the Platform, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Privacy Policy and consent to the practices described herein. If you do not agree with this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Platform.

This Policy is intended to supplement and be read alongside our main Science Explorers Privacy Policy available at https://scienceexplorers.com/science-explorers-privacy-policy/ and our Terms of Use and Subscription Agreement.

1. Information We Collect

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

When you register for, purchase, or access the Platform, we may collect the following categories of information:

Full name and professional title
Organization, school, or business name
Email address and phone number
Mailing address and billing address
Payment information (processed securely through third-party payment processors; see Section 6)
Username and password credentials for your Platform account
Subscription tier selected and program access preferences
Communications you send to us, including support requests, inquiries, and feedback
Any other information you voluntarily submit in connection with your use of the Platform

1.2 Information Collected Automatically

When you access the Platform, certain information is collected automatically through cookies, log files, and similar technologies, including:

IP address and general geographic location
Browser type and version
Device type and operating system
Pages viewed and content accessed within the Platform
Date, time, and duration of access sessions
Referring URLs and exit pages
Clickstream data and navigation patterns within the Platform

1.3 Information from Third-Party Platforms

Because the Platform is hosted on Teachable, Teachable may also collect information about you in connection with your use of the Platform in accordance with Teachable's own privacy policy. We encourage you to review Teachable's privacy policy at teachable.com. To the extent Teachable shares information about you with Science Explorers, we handle that information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

1.4 Information Regarding Minors

The Platform is designed for use by adult educators, school administrators, program operators, and licensed partners. The Platform is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 through the Platform. If you are a school or organization using our curriculum in programs that serve minors, you are responsible for ensuring appropriate permissions and protections are in place for any student data within your own systems. Science Explorers does not directly collect or store identifiable information about the children enrolled in programs using our curriculum through this Platform.

If you believe a minor has submitted personal information to us through the Platform without appropriate authorization, please contact us immediately at the information provided in Section 13 and we will take prompt steps to delete such information.

2. How We Use Your Information

Science Explorers uses the information we collect for the following purposes:

To create and manage your Platform account and verify your identity
To process subscription purchases, renewals, and payments
To provide, maintain, and improve your access to curriculum content and platform features
To communicate with you regarding your account, subscription status, renewal reminders, and any changes to your access
To send you important notices regarding changes to our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, or Platform features
To respond to your customer service inquiries, questions, or complaints in a thorough and timely manner
To send periodic updates, announcements, new content notifications, and promotional communications related to Science Explorers programs, where you have consented to receive such communications
To monitor compliance with our Terms of Use and Subscription Agreement, including detection and prevention of unauthorized use, sharing, or reproduction of Content
To detect, investigate, and address security incidents, fraud, or other misuse of the Platform
To analyze usage patterns and improve the Platform, curriculum offerings, and user experience
To fulfill any legal obligations, respond to lawful requests, or enforce our legal rights
To maintain accurate records of who has been granted access to our proprietary curriculum, for purposes of protecting our intellectual property

3. How We Share Your Information

3.1 We Do Not Sell Your Information

Science Explorers does not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to any third party for their own marketing or commercial purposes. Full stop.

3.2 Service Providers

We may share your information with trusted third-party vendors and service providers who assist us in operating the Platform and delivering our services. These may include:

Teachable, as the platform host
Payment processors (such as Stripe or PayPal) who securely handle transaction data
Email service providers who facilitate account communications and marketing emails
Analytics providers who help us understand Platform usage (see Section 5)
Customer relationship management (CRM) systems we use to manage subscriber records
Cloud storage and data hosting providers

All third-party service providers are contractually required to handle your information only as directed by us, to maintain appropriate security standards, and to comply with all applicable privacy and data protection laws. They are prohibited from using your information for any purpose other than providing services to Science Explorers.

3.3 Legal Requirements and Protection of Rights

We may disclose your information when required by law or when we have a good-faith belief that disclosure is necessary to:

Comply with a legal obligation, court order, subpoena, or governmental request
Protect and defend the rights, property, or safety of Science Explorers, our users, or others
Investigate, prevent, or take action regarding suspected illegal activity, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Use

3.4 Business Transfers

In the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, sale of assets, or bankruptcy involving Science Explorers, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. 4. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

The Platform and our website use cookies, web beacons, pixel tags, and similar tracking technologies to enhance your experience and gather information about how users interact with the Platform. Cookies are small data files stored on your device that help us recognize you on return visits and maintain session continuity.

We use the following types of cookies:

Essential Cookies: Required for the Platform to function properly, including maintaining your logged-in session and remembering your preferences. These cannot be disabled without impairing Platform functionality.

Please note that Teachable, as the platform host, also uses its own cookies and tracking technologies governed by Teachable's privacy policy.

5. Analytics

Science Explorers uses Google Analytics and may use other analytics tools to collect and analyze data about how users access and use our Platform and main website. This data helps us understand traffic patterns, content engagement, and user behavior in order to improve our services. Google Analytics collects information such as how often users visit the site, what pages they visit, and what other sites they used prior to arriving.

Google Analytics collects only the IP address assigned to you on the date you visit, not your name or other identifying information. We do not combine the information collected through Google Analytics with personally identifiable information. You can opt out of Google Analytics data collection by visiting http://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

We may also use social media pixels (such as Meta/Facebook pixel) on our website to measure the performance of our digital marketing campaigns, track conversions, and optimize future advertising.

6. Payment Information

All payment transactions made through the Platform are processed by third-party payment processors. Science Explorers does not directly collect, store, or have access to your full payment card information (such as credit card numbers or bank account numbers). Payment processors are PCI-DSS compliant and maintain their own privacy and security standards for handling financial data.

We may retain non-sensitive transaction information, such as the amount charged, the date of payment, your subscription tier, and a partial payment method identifier (such as the last four digits of your card), for purposes of record-keeping, customer service, and compliance.

7. Data Storage and Retention

7.1 Storage

Your information is stored on secure servers maintained by Science Explorers and its third-party service providers, which may include servers located in the United States. If you access the Platform from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your jurisdiction. By using the Platform, you consent to such transfer.

7.2 Retention

We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including to maintain your account, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements, and protect our intellectual property rights. Specifically:

Account and subscription records are retained for the duration of your active subscription and for a reasonable period thereafter to handle any disputes, refund requests, or legal claims
Records of who was granted access to our proprietary curriculum are retained indefinitely for intellectual property protection purposes
Payment records are retained as required by applicable law and accounting standards
Communications and support records are retained for a reasonable period to improve customer service

When information is no longer needed, we take reasonable steps to securely delete or anonymize it.

8. Security

Science Explorers takes the security of your personal information seriously and implements physical, technical, and administrative safeguards designed to protect your information from unauthorized access, use, disclosure, alteration, or destruction. These measures include:

Encryption of data transmitted to and from the Platform
Secure password storage and account authentication requirements
Access controls limiting who within Science Explorers can access personal information
Regular review of our data collection, storage, and processing practices
Contractual security obligations imposed on all third-party service providers

However, no method of transmission over the internet or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your personal information using commercially reasonable standards, we cannot guarantee its absolute security. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for any activity that occurs under your account.

You will never receive a request from Science Explorers asking you to disclose your password in any unsolicited communication. If you receive such a request, please do not respond and contact us immediately.

9. Your Rights and Choices

9.1 Access and Correction

You have the right to access and review the personal information we hold about you. If any information is inaccurate or incomplete, you may request that we correct or update it by contacting us at the information provided in Section 13. We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests in a timely manner.

9.2 Deletion

You may request that we delete your personal information. We will honor such requests to the extent permitted by law, subject to our need to retain certain records for legal compliance, dispute resolution, enforcement of our agreements, and protection of our intellectual property rights. Note that deleting your account does not affect any records we maintain regarding past access to our proprietary curriculum, which we retain for intellectual property protection purposes.

9.3 Opt-Out of Marketing Communications

If you have subscribed to Science Explorers promotional emails or newsletter communications, you may opt out at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any such email or by contacting us directly. Please note that even after opting out of marketing communications, you will continue to receive transactional and account-related communications necessary for the administration of your subscription.

9.4 Cookie Preferences

You may manage cookie preferences through your browser settings. Note that disabling certain cookies may impair your ability to use some features of the Platform.

9.5 California Residents

If you are a California resident, you may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect, the right to delete your personal information, the right to opt out of the sale of your personal information (note: we do not sell personal information), and the right to non-discrimination for exercising your privacy rights. To exercise these rights, please contact us using the information in Section 13.

9.6 Other Applicable Privacy Laws

Depending on your location, you may have additional rights under applicable state or international privacy laws. We are committed to honoring applicable privacy rights and will respond to verified requests in accordance with applicable law.

10. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform or our website may contain links to third-party websites, services, or resources. These links are provided for your convenience and informational purposes only. Science Explorers does not control, endorse, or take responsibility for the privacy practices or content of any linked third-party sites. Each third-party site operates under its own privacy policy, and we encourage you to review those policies before providing any personal information to those sites. Science Explorers has no liability for the practices of linked third-party websites.

11. Intellectual Property and Content Access Tracking

In connection with our obligation to protect our proprietary curriculum and educational content, Science Explorers maintains records of which users have been granted access to specific Content on the Platform, when that access was granted, and when it was revoked. This access tracking is a necessary component of our intellectual property protection practices and is described more fully in our Terms of Use and Subscription Agreement.

We may use technical measures, including digital watermarking, download tracking, and access logs, to monitor usage of our Content and detect unauthorized reproduction or distribution. Information gathered through these measures may be used to enforce our intellectual property rights and our Terms of Use.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

Science Explorers reserves the right to update or modify this Privacy Policy at any time. When we make material changes, we will post the revised Policy on the Platform with an updated effective date and, where appropriate, notify you by email. Your continued use of the Platform following the posting of any revised Privacy Policy constitutes your acceptance of those changes.

We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically to stay informed about how we are protecting your information. If you disagree with any changes to this Privacy Policy, you must discontinue use of the Platform.
